Raptors Pull Together For Big Win Over Heat

Anthony Parker scored 20 points to lead the Toronto Raptors to an impressive 96-83 win over the Miami Heat on Wednesday night.

The Raptors once again exhibited their depth and determination, playing without injured rookies Jorge Garbajosa and Andrea Bargnani.

Six players finished the game in double figures.

Chris Bosh had 13 points and a game-high 18 rebounds while Juan Dixon finished with 18 points.   T.J. Ford added 14, Morris Peterson had 11, and Rasho Nesterovic finished with 10.

Shaquille O’Neal led the Heat with 17 points.

The victory moved Toronto , who are chasing their first division title in franchise history, past the Heat for third place in the Eastern Conference with 11 games left.

“There were just so many things with this game, coming at this point in time, I think everybody got up for it,” said Bosh.

Heat coach Pat Riley praised Toronto ‘s effort.

“They were really good, they were in it, they were at home,” said Riley. “It’s a huge, huge game for them and us. I think a lot of it had to do with their overall commitment and preparation to play a big game at home.”
