Toronto Fire was called to a vacant building at King and Portland early Sunday morning after smoke and flames were spotted coming from the roof.
When crews arrived they discovered a small blaze on a rooftop deck and found propane tanks in a nearby shed.
Adjacent buildings were evacuated as a precaution, though people were allowed to return a short time later.
There’s no word on a cause, but officials say it doesn’t look suspicious.
Peel Police Crash
A Peel police cruiser suffered heavy damage in an early morning crash in Mississauga Sunday.
The OPP are investigating after the car lost much of its front-end in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 403 at Erin Mills.
Police quote witnesses as saying the cruiser was cut off by a third vehicle that left the scene. The officer was taken to hospital as a precaution and released after treatment for minor injuries. No one else was hurt.
