The Ottawa Senators are going home two wins shy of a trip to the Stanley Cup final after a pair of huge wins at Buffalo. Joe Corvo’s lifted the Senators to a 4-3 win over the Sabres in the second overtime period.
Daniel Briere tied the game for Buffalo with 5.8 seconds left in the game. Jochen Hecht and Thomas Vanek had given the Sabres an early 2-0 lead. Daniel Alfredsson scored for Ottawa in the first period. Mike Fischer and Wade Redden scored for the Seantors in the second. Redden’s goal came with 16 seconds left in the period.
Game Three is Monday in Ottawa.
