Pedestrian Killed In Hit-And-Run

A man is dead after an early morning hit-and-run at Midland and Steeles. Police were called around 4:40am Sunday when the victim was struck by a silver SUV that somehow ended up either dragging or throwing the pedestrian approximately 75 metres. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Toronto Police Det. Paul Lobsinger said he was able to get a good description of the car that got away from eye witnesses. “We’re very confident that this vehicle is a 2005 to 2007 Chevy Equinox ( pictured), silver in colour. There’s a dark-coloured bug deflector on the front of the vehicle. We urge the driver of the vehicle to turn himself or herself in,” he said. “We have substantial evidence and we will find the driver of the motor vehicle involved in this collision.”

The victim’s name hasn’t been released. If you’ve seen this car, call police at Traffic Services at (416) 808-1900.
