Police fanned out in a massive search Wednesday and two young offenders are under arrest after a disturbing find in the St. Clair and Victoria Park area of the city. Cops were called to a quiet neighbourhood after residents saw two suspicious figures emerging from a house. Authorities immediately arrested one of the men, but another took off down the block. He was apprehended by an undercover cop and taken into custody.
What are these two accused of? That’s not yet clear, and no official charges have been laid. But a search of the area turned up a sawed-off shotgun hidden in a tree not far from the scene of the first capture. That prompted a massive search of the entire neighbourhood, which cops locked down in their hunt for any other suspects – or weapons. The K-9 unit was brought in to join in the hunt, but nothing else was found.
The incident began just after 1pm and authorities were pleading with citizens on the affected streets to stay away or stay indoors while they completed their dragnet.
