A mysterious murder-suicide involving an off-duty police officer and a civilian that happened in London, Ontario on Thursday has been solved.
It all started when a van lost control and crashed into a building on Picton St. after shots rang out at about midnight. Officials said it was the gunfire that caused the fatal injuries not the resulting crash. Both individuals were pronounced dead in hospital.
London Police identified the two victims on Friday as retired police superintendent Kelly Johnson, 40, who was found with a service pistol in her lap. Her ex-lover, 57-year-old David Lucio was found behind the wheel of the van, shot in the head.
