Fisher-Price Recalls Toys Due To Lead Poisoning Hazard

Fisher-Price issued a voluntary recall of a number of children’s toys Wednesday, notably the popular Sesame Street and Dora the Explorer lines because of lead contamination in the surface paint.  Lead, even in small amounts, is highly toxic to children.  The recall affects toys sold after May 1, 2007.

“Consumers should immediately take the recalled toys away from children and contact Fisher-Price. Consumers will need to return the product and will receive a voucher for a replacement toy of the consumer’s choice (up to the value of the returned product).

Customer Contact: For additional information visit the firm’s Web site at http://www.service.mattel.com/ or contact Fisher-Price at (800) 916-4498.
