When asked if the hot days of summer deter people from going out and looking for a new home Dan Ellenberg from sellwithdan.com said, “We’re certainly not seeing a slowdown there at all. The numbers are supporting that and the sales are supporting that as well.” He added that homes with air conditioning are really in demand right now. If you don’t have air conditioning, it might not be the best week to sell. “This is really the busiest summer in Toronto’s history. And in some areas of the city, the sales have just been astounding. Riverdale is up something like 70 to 75 per cent in terms of sales from a year ago for the month of July. Thornhill and Vaughan are up over 100 per cent. North York Centre and the Yonge and Sheppard area are up something like 80 to 90 per cent.”
