Fatal Accident Shuts Down Portion Of Westbound QEW

A fatal accident has shut down the Niagara-bound QEW at the westbound 403. OPP said a woman from the Stoney Creek area, believed to be in her early 50s, was hit by a pick-up truck just before 4am Thursday while walking along the highway.
The circumstances surrounding the accident remain unclear and no charges have been laid yet. The driver of the pickup truck wasn’t hurt. Officials expect the highway to remain closed until 1pm.
