Advance Polls Now Open

Have you made up your mind who you’re voting for in the Ontario election? If so, you can make your choice now. The advance polls officially opened on Tuesday and those who’ve had enough of listening to all the back-and-forth blather from the four party leaders can indicate who swayed them the most.

All you need to do to cast your ballot is show up at the appropriate place anytime between 12pm and 8pm from now until October 4th. After that day, you’ll need to head to the returning office to make your choice count. Take the voter’s card you received in the mail. Or you can bring along documents proving your identity and residence to get on the list. But either way you’ll need the former – a change to the law now requires every voter to prove their identity to receive a ballot.

You’ll not only be able to pick your candidate, you can also weigh in on the referendum that could change the voting system in this province forever.

Where are the advance polls? A lot depends on where you live, but there’s an easy way to find the one in your neighbourhood. Simply click here and enter your postal code or other information or call Elections Ontario at 1-888-668-8683 for any other questions you might have.

To be eligible to vote you must be:

  • 18 years of age or older,
  • a Canadian citizen, and
  • a resident of the electoral district.
