Raptors Makes Victorious Return To A.C.C.

After a 13-day trip overseas as part of NBA Europe Live, the Toronto Raptors made a victorious return to home turf Wednesday, downing Zalgiris Kaunas from Lithuania 105-99 at the Air Canada Centre.

T.J. Ford led Toronto with 13 points and 11 assists while Jason Kapono had 13 and Rasho Nesterovic, Jose Calderon, Kris Humphries, and Juan Dixon added 12 points apiece.

Jonas Maciulis led Zalgiris with 24 points.

Chris Bosh sat out his second straight game with a sore left knee.  His status for Friday’s game against the Chicago Bulls is still uncertain.

Toronto coach Sam Mitchell was happy to be back home after a long road trip, one which he found quite challenging.

“It’s tough because a lot of these teams don’t play like NBA teams play and so, how much do we adjust what we’ve been working on to try to win the basketball game?” Mitchell said before the game. “For two-and-a-half weeks we’ve been working on certain things to prepare for our season…we’re trying to get ready for the big picture.”
