How far would you go to get a room with a nice view on your vacation?
According to media reports, a German retiree secretly cut down 122 trees in a publicly owned forest to give his holiday cottage a clear view of the Baltic Sea.
The 70-year-old Hamburg resident told police he had chopped down 56 trees with a chainsaw and left only the bottom four yards of 66 others so that he could “enjoy an unobstructed view of the Baltic.”
All that tree-felling caused an estimated $22,000 worth of damage, and the man is likely to be charged with damaging property and breaking conservation laws.
Is it safe to assume he would kill for an ocean view?
