The rollercoaster week at the pumps continues, as prices shifted dramatically for the fourth time in a week.
Motorists grumbled at the latest spike, to about $1.06 per litre, which came just in time for the Easter long weekend.
“I’m buying like $30, and for three days, four days, you know,” noted driver Ted Ross. “I drive for awhile, so it’s very expensive.”
Fellow motorist Bong MacClaren adds, “I’m struggling with this car I’m driving right now. I try not to drive a lot. Try to save some money, you know, especially in the weekend, don’t go out too much. “
The fuel hike comes despite this week’s drop in the price of oil. Crude costs dipped nine per cent this week to $101.84US a barrel.
And though the gas marquee price has fluctuated wildly this week, from about $1.03 to $1.09 per litre depending on the day, gas industry watchdog Dan McTeague figures this latest price shift could be around for a few days. He doesn’t expect another change until about the middle of next week.
