Man Dies After West End Stabbing, Suspect In Custody

One man is dead and another is charged with his murder after a stabbing in the city’s west-end.

When emergency crews arrived at 224 Wallace Avenue in the Bloor and Lansdowne area just after 5pm, they found the victim without any vital signs.

He was rushed to hospital, but despite the best efforts of medical personnel, the man couldn’t be revived.

It appears that the victim, believed to be in his 20s, was stabbed in the head and chest with a hunting knife. Witnesses say they spotted two men arguing in the street moments before the vicious attack.

Police are asking for the public’s assistance.

“Witnesses are a key in solving any case,” notes Det. Mike Patterson

A post-mortem is scheduled to take place Saturday.

Toronto man Shahin Pirouzi, 29, faces a second degree murder charge. He was due to appear in court Friday morning.

Anyone with information for police in the case can call (416) 808-1900.
