Teen Stabbed Outside Fairview Mall Store

Authorities are still trying to figure out exactly what happened at a local mall Wednesday.

But it wound up with a teenager in hospital, security guards chasing a suspect and questions about what might have sparked a dispute that lead to a late afternoon stabbing.

Cops rushed to Fairview Mall in the Don Mills and Highway 404 area around the supper hour, after receiving reports a young man had received knife wounds not far from a shoe store inside the complex.

Paramedics immediately arrived and transported the victim to hospital (pictured), as he lay bleeding on the floor.

The suspect who wielded that knife didn’t wait around for authorities to arrive. He took off running through one of the exits, heading towards the TTC, with security personnel in hot pursuit.

The victim, an 18-year-old male, was conscious as he was being transported. He suffered wounds to his neck and chest and is in serious but stable condition.

Police believe the suspect is around 16 or 17 and lost a sandal at the scene, though there haven’t been any arrests.

Elsewhere in the city, hours later, two young men, both 19 were rushed to hospital after being stabbed.

Cops say that incident happened in Highland Heights Park in the Birchmount and Finch area of Scarborough. Both victims were conscious while being transported. Police say two cars were seen speeding from the park.

If you have any information that can help investigators in either case call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
