Just hours after a crash landing at Lake Simcoe Regional Airport killed a 61-year-old pilot, a second small plane went down on a runway.
This time at Buttonville Airport just after midnight Monday, a student pilot reportedly failed a landing attempt, sending the vehicle off the runway and into a grassy area. The craft ended up on its side with a wing sticking up in the air.
The trip was allegedly a practise in night landing.
Along with the flight student, an instructor and a passenger were aboard, and all three left the scene unharmed.
