StreetBeat – July 9 – Queen West Fire

No injuries were reported after a fire broke out on Queen Street near Spadina Tuesday night.

The blaze happened at 463 Queen St. W, just a short distance away from the devastating fire that took out a city block in February.

The damage is extensive and several people were forced out of their homes. There’s no word yet on what caused the fire.


Man Shot As He Exited A Pool Hall

Shots rang out overnight outside a downtown pool hall near College and Bathurst, leaving a 28-year-old man wounded in the leg. 

Police have gotten vague descriptions of four suspects, and are searching for the group.

It is believed the gunfire may have come from a parked SUV, but the motive for the crime is unknown.

The victim is expected to recover.


Young Stabbing Victim Flags Down A Passerby

A 17-Year-Old Markham boy was stabbed in the chest Tuesday night in Toronto’s east end.

He beckoned to a passing car around Scarborough Golf Club Road and Ellesmere at around 9pm. He was taken to hospital for emergency surgery. 

Police are unsure of what happened, and have not been able to talk to the victim yet.
