It’s the news his worried parents had been longing to hear.
Another person spotted seeing Brandon Crisp the day he disappeared.
Crisp ran away from his Barrie home October 13, Thanksgiving Monday, following a longstanding argument over his near-constant video game use.
Steve, his father, even helped him pack his bags. The 15-year-old hasn’t been seen since that day.
Though police have found his bicycle, and spoken with one person who saw Crisp on a trail near his home, those tips came in close to the beginning of the investigation.
Over the weekend, a driver stopped during a traffic canvass had another clue: the witness also saw Brandon that Monday, east of Line 3.
That’s in the same area officers had already been searching and while it means that the hunt will not be expanded, it does give hope to investigators.
It was the increased media coverage that led to the tip about the bike. Deb Woods noticed the abandoned cycle but didn’t think much of it.
“Of course we didn’t know anything about the story of Brandon at that stage,” she reports
“We didn’t know until the Saturday that there was such a story and we put two and two together and called the police about having found the bike,” added Woods.
