Road Closures In Store As Buffalo Bills Play First Game In Toronto Sunday

Tired of waiting for the fourth down? American football fans in Canada, your patience has been rewarded.

The NFL is coming to Toronto Sunday and it’s happening at the Rogers Centre. The Buffalo Bills will host the Miami Dolphins at 4pm and the classic AFC East matchup will be broadcast on Citytv.

“This is a world-class sports town, and there’s only one sport that’s missing on the schedule – and that’s NFL football. That’s why we wanted to bring it up here and we’re delighted that the NFL’s finally here,” remarked Rogers Media GM Adrian Montgomery.

There will also be a tailgate party from 11am-4pm, at Wellington Street West and Blue Jays Way. The 3,500-person public tailgate – there’s also a 5,500-person VIP area – is free admission and will feature music and games.

The contest is the first of five regular-season games, one a season for the next four years. Though ticket sales were lackluster at first, the match is now completely sold out (unless you scored a deal on Cragislist or Ebay).

Toronto Police are shutting down certain roads as part of the security plan.

As of Sunday at 9am, the following routes will be closed:
