Two People Sent To Hospital After Serious Crash In Markham

York Regional Police closed a Markham intersection for much of Wednesday after a serious two-car crash.
Two cars collided in the intersection of Kennedy Road and Denison Street just before 10am, causing one vehicle to slam into a tree.
Emergency crews used the Jaws of Life to cut off the top of one of the cars, at which point a person was airlifted to St. Michael’s Hospital with what were originally considered to be life-threatening injuries. Fortunately those have since been downgraded. Two others sustained non-life threatening injuries in the crash, one requiring hospitalization.
Denison was shut down between Old Kennedy and Gorvette roads while a reconstruction team conducted its investigation. The intersection reopened around 4pm.
