It’s the week kids look forward to most each school year — and the one that sometimes throws parents into fits figuring out what to do with their little ones.
And with the economy the way it is, a vacation down south may simply not be in the cards this year. Well, not to worry — there are plenty of things to do in and around the GTA that won’t put a big dent in your bank account.
Among them, visits to local attractions such as the Royal Ontario Museum or the Ontario Science Centre, family-friendly events such as the annual Rogers Spring Fling, and good old-fashioned fun like taking in a matinee.
Here are a few of our suggestions:
Rogers Spring Fling — from March 16 – 20, Rogers Centre transforms into an indoor carnival for the whole family to enjoy, with 18 rides to choose from. The fair runs daily from 10am to 6pm. Guests two years and older pay $17 for an all-day ride ticket, and the faint-of-heart can also purchase a no-ride ticket for $10. An all-week pass costs $30. Tickets can be purchased directly at Rogers Centre, Gate 7, or online at www.ticketmaster.ca.
Ontario Science Centre — Aside from the OSC’s regular attractions, from March 19-22, the Xbox 360 ‘Best March Break Ever’ Tour will be featured. Parents and kids will be invited to enjoy games like Rock Band 2, Scene It! Box Office Smash, You’re In The Movies and Lips. More details can be found at www.xbox.com/marchbreak.
