Jade Goody, 27, Dies From Cervical Cancer

Jade Goody, the star of British reality television and international tabloids, has died of cervical cancer.

She was 27 years old.

Goody first became famous for appearing on the show Big Brother in 2002, and continued to appear in subsequent versions of the show. In 2007 she was evicted from the house following accusations that she bullied another contestant, Shilpa Shetty, and mocked her Indian heritage.

Goody later apologized and said her actions were wrong.

She decided to withdraw from an Indian version of Big Brother known as Bigg Boss when she was diagnosed in August, 2008.

In February, she found out the cancer had metastasized and the disease was terminal.

Like her life, Goody decided to put her death in the public eye. Pictures of her bald and pale appeared in magazines across the world.

The decision immediately changed the public perception of the young star, who said she wanted to bring awareness to the prevalence of cervical cancer among women her age.

She also spoke of her desire to provide for her two young sons, as she didn’t have much time left.

In one of her last public appearances, Goody married her boyfriend Jack Tweed on February 22.

Exactly one month later, she passed away in her sleep at their home in Essex.
