Snow Expected For Start Of Work Week

For a winter-weary city, Sunday was a gift. Sunny and warm, it was a perfect day for jogging, biking, and doing just about anything outdoors.

“It’s amazing. We’re walking all the way from Queen and Parliament and we’re going to Kensington Market. And we thought, we’re not going to take the streetcar, we’ll just walk all the way there,” enthused one couple.

But like fame, weather conditions in GTA can be fleeting. Snow is on the way Monday, and we’ll need to drag out those winter coats for at least one more appearance.

Barrie got a blast of the white stuff Saturday and could be hit again, with areas far to the north of the city looking at 10 to 15 centimetres of snow. Here in Toronto, we’ll get at least two – and on top of that, 15 to 25 millimetres of rain.

Here’s when the rain and snow will arrive Monday:

2am – 5am:  Rain 5-10mm
5am – 10am:  Rain/snow mix
10am – 3pm:  Rain (mixing)
3pm – 7pm:  Flurries 2-5cm

Before you hit the road Monday morning, tune into Breakfast Television starting at 6am for updates on the rush-hour commute.
