Cops Hope Video Of Brazen Beer Store Robbery In Progress Will Net Suspects

It is a startling look at a crime in progress. And Durham Regional Police are hoping you’ll be able to help them solve it by watching it happen.

They’re looking for two young males seen robbing an Uxbridge Beer Store on Main St. North on April 14th. The video of the duo, caught on the store’s security camera, clearly shows two disguised young adults using shovels to break the glass of the facility around 1:30am.

They then rush in and begin hauling out boxes of booze, eventually taking nine cases of Rickard’s “Red and White” beer, before running off and leaving the remaining supply behind.

An alarm call summoned cops, who came with the K-9 unit hoping to catch a whiff of the beer burglars, but they were long gone by the time authorities arrived.

Now they want to toast their capture, provided you can supply the information. The suspects kept their faces hidden during their spree and their descriptions are pretty vague. But their clothing may provide a key clue to catching them.

Suspect number one is described as a 16-19-year-old male. He was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, dark-coloured sweatpants and white running shoes.

The second wanted youth is also between 16 and 19, and was clad in a grey hooded sweatshirt, dark-coloured sweatpants with a double white stripe down the outside leg, a black toque and dark-coloured running shoes.

A silver vehicle was seen leaving the parking lot but there’s no licence number.

If these guys look familiar or you think you know who they are, call 1-888-579-1520 ext. 2674 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
