Down On Dirty: 20 Minute Makeover Gives T.O. A Clean Sweep

What were you doing at 2pm Friday?

Well, like Toronto Mayor David Miller, hopefully you were outside attempting a little spring cleaning.

That was the aim of Toronto’s annual 20 Minute Makeover, an initiative designed to get residents to spruce up the sometimes not-so-great outdoors after a long, hard winter.

The campaign got under way earlier this month and while you were supposed to register with the city in advance, many simply joined in the scour power at the last minute.

The concept is simple: choose a small but suitably messy location and pick up the trash. The idea is to restore Toronto’s old reputation as having some of the cleanest streets in the world.
