Some things never change. Take the Victoria Day weekend for example. It arrives like clockwork every year on the Monday before the 25 th. And so does the first of the annual backyard firework displays for thousands of GTA families.
There are only two weekends of the year when you’re supposed to be able to set off the explosives in the privacy of your yard – Victoria Day and Canada Day. According to Toronto Fire Services, Labour Day isn’t included.
But despite the fact children love them, fireworks aren’t toys and your kids should never be allowed to handle them. They bring the threat of fire or serious injury in the wrong hands. And in one case in recent memory, they brought something much worse.
