Boy Rescued After Tumbling From Mimico Cliff

A casual stroll by the lake front turned into a rescue mission for a GTA family on Monday.

Dave Wolson was out with his children in Mimico when his son tumbled down a rocky embankment, forcing emergency crews to the scene near 2445 Lake Shore Blvd W.

“My son was out here playing by the bluffs,” Wolson relates.

“He went down to skip some rocks but he slipped and fell and hit a rock with his left hip so unfortunately we couldn’t move him.”

Paramedics and fire fighters participated in the high-angle rescue, lifting the 12-year-old back to solid ground.

“Toronto’s emergency is really good. They always come when you need them. They took really good care of him,” beamed Wolson.

The child was taken to hospital to be checked out but it appears he suffered only bumps and bruises in the fall.
