It’s a new day in Toronto and that means new dump sites.
As the strike by roughly 24,000 civic workers drag on, trash is piling up at parks and arenas around the city.
Many of them have become so full of our waste that the temporary garbage drop-off locations had to be closed, and new ones opened in their place. See the full list below.
“We don’t want this, just insects and the smell,” outlined Joe Fava. He lives near Campbell Park, one of the new dump sites.
“We have to live here! I understand we gotta take the garbage, but we should at least have a community meeting, a consultation. We do have two schools; you could alternate. But you know, they’re not doing that.
“Just to come here and dump…We’re tax payers. We should have a say, but we’re not.”
