A tentative agreement has been reached to end a 15-week long strike by municipal workers in Windsor, Ont.
The Canadian Union of Public Employees says it reached an agreement with the city at 6:30am on Thursday, following a marathon bargaining session.
About 400 outside workers represented by CUPE Local 82 who handle road work, garbage and other duties, walked off the job on April 15.
Another 1,400 inside staff in daycare, social services, bylaw enforcement and clerical work represented by CUPE Local 543, walked out several days later.
CUPE says a ratification vote will be held on Friday and the results are expected to be made public later in the day.
The union says no details of the agreement will be released until after the vote takes place. The key issue in the dispute is post-retirement benefits.
