CNE Opens Big With Small Prices, High-Flying Rides

The annual CNE opened big with small ticket prices and high-flying rides on Friday.

To mark Toronto’s 175th anniversary, admission costs on opening day have been slashed to just $1.75.

Of course, you’ll still be shelling out for the rides, midway, special “kiddie” midway, snacks, and guest appearances.

Skateboarder Tony Hawk will make a special appearance at the Ex’s new surf wave machine and Bill Clinton will speak at the BMO Field in an open air forum on August 29.

It’s no surprise to those familiar with end-of-summer ritual, but Toronto Police have once again warned that there will be a lot more traffic in the area.

Motorists should drive with caution, they advise, and take alternate routes when possible.

What else is going on?

88th Warriors’ Day Parade: Saturday August 22, 10:30am

RibFest: August 21 to 23, August 25 to 30 and September 3 to 7, 11am to 10pm

Canadian International Air Show 60th anniversary: September 5, 6 & 7, 12:30pm to 4:30pm
