Man Struck And Killed By VIA Train

An Oshawa man is dead after he was struck and killed by a VIA train on Tuesday night.
It happened at about 11pm on the Canadian National rail line near Harwood Ave. and Highway 401 in Ajax.
The 19-year-old had been walking on the tracks with two friends when he was hit by a westbound train.
The friends were unharmed, but the coroner pronounced the victim dead a short time later.
Police shut down the tracks for about three hours for the investigation.
