Arrest Made After Car Clocked Doing 170, Abandoned On 404

A young woman on the run was forced to slow down when police caught up with her early Friday morning.

Cops allege that her first bout of trouble began when she was spotted on the Don Valley Parkway, driving 139 km/h in a 90 km/h zone.

Later, officers say, she attemtped to ditch police by exiting off the DVP, pulling a U-turn, and re-entering the busy highway – going in the same direction as before.

This time, she was clocked doing 170 km/h on Highway 404.

The driver then allegedly crashed into a guardrail, but her attempted getaway didn’t end there. Police allege she ditched her vehicle in the middle of the northbound lanes and ran off.

The car, complete with a snapped steering wheel, was found near Highway 401. It took investigators about a half an hour to track down the suspect.

She was found on a TTC bus at Victoria Park Avenue and York Mills Road around 3:10am.
