A man is in custody after two separate hit-and-run crashes on Wednesday night.
Officers were first called to Jayzel Drive and Finch Avenue, where, they allege, the accused struck a stopped vehicle that was waiting at a red light.
That set off a chain reaction crash involving several vehicles and also injured one pedestrian, who was hit with debris.
The driver at fault allegedly fled the scene, but was in trouble again just blocks away.
Police allege that he drove into the intersection at Finch Avenue and Weston Road, where he struck a pedestrian.
The accused also allegedly fled from that scene.
One victim, a woman, was rushed to Sunnybrook with serious head injuries. She’s still in critical condition.
The other victim had less serious injuries and was taken to a closer hospital.
