Fall Begins At 5:18pm Tuesday

The kids are back in school, city pools have closed, and there’s a definite nip in the air.

That can only mean one thing: we’re in the last hours of summer.

As of 5:18pm on Tuesday, September 22 autumn — or the “autumnal equinox” as it’s officially known — will “fall” on Toronto.

The first week of the season will see temperatures in the mid 20s and quite a few clouds in the sky.

On Tuesday, we’ll see a high of 24C and a risk of a thunderstorm in the afternoon.

Wednesday, it’s a mix of sun and cloud with another risk of thunderstorms in the afternoon. But it’s not all bad news – the mercury will climb as high as 25C.

Thursday, it will be mostly sunny and a high of 22C.

On Friday, it will still be sunny but the temperature will drop to about 20C.

And as for the weekend, that’s when we’ll get our first real taste of fall: showers, wind, and temperatures in the low 20s are all in the forecast.
