Authorities nabbed two men who allegedly shot at a police officer last week while investigators continue to search for a third suspect.
The alleged shooting happened Saturday Dec. 5 around 2:30am near Victoria Park and Finch Avenues.
Police say a plainclothes officer, who was conducting a break-and-enter investigation, was approached by three men as he walked to his car.
The officer told the trio he was a cop and that’s when one of them allegedly pulled a gun and fired several shots. After an exchange of gunfire, the three suspects took off.
Just over a week later, detectives picked up two men. Twenty-two-year-old Joshawa Dehond and 24-year-old Andrew Gardner were arrested Wednesday and are facing a long list of charges, including attempted murder, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of stolen property.
They are scheduled to appear in court Friday morning.
Meanwhile, investigators are still trying to track down the third suspect, who’s being advised to contact a lawyer and turn himself in to authorities.
