Peel cops warn public about stolen personal computers

A warning has been issued by Peel Regional Police for people to be wary of anyone offering great deals on private computers.

The advice comes after a tractor trailer filled with 791 Hewlett Packard Pavilion Elite desktop computers was stolen on Tuesday morning in Brampton.

The truck was found in Mississauga later in the afternoon, but it was empty.

The theft is valued at $470, 000.

Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to contact the Commercial Auto Crime Unit at (905) 453-2121, ext. 3313. Anonymous information may also be submitted by calling Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), by visiting their website at www.peelcrimestoppers.ca, or by texting “PEEL,” followed by tips, to CRIMES (274637).
