Toronto and the G.T.A. have been experiencing a rash of deadly fires recently and sadly, many of these tragedies could have been prevented.

The city’s fire department is stressing the importance of fire safety and proper, functioning smoke alarms.

Careless smoking has been to blame in sparking a number of blazes. Kris Reyes takes a look at some other common causes and how to make sure your home is up to code.
