Record-Breaking Temperatures Expected For Long Weekend

It’s good news for those sick of grey skies: record-breaking temperatures are expected for the Easter long weekend.
In Toronto, we’ll see a high of 25C on Friday and the balmy weather will continue well into the next week.
Saturday, the mercury will climb to 26C and on Sunday, it will hit 18C.
That’s a huge jump over what’s expected, Environment Canada senior climatologist Dave Phillips explained.
In Ontario and Quebec, forecasters are expecting temperatures to exceed seasonal norms by as much as 15 to 20 degrees, he said.
“Smashing the records, clobbering it, pulverizing, whatever you want to say … These are things that you should see two, two-and-a-half months from now,” Phillips said in a telephone interview.
Meanwhile, the Beaches Easter Parade will take place – rain or shine – on Sunday. The annual event will shut down several downtown streets and the TTC will be re-routing buses.
The procession will start at 2pm at Queen Street East and Munro Park Avenue, and continue along Queen Street East to Woodbine Avenue.

- Queen Street East (partial road) Munro Park Avenue to Fallingbrook Road, from 10am to noon.
- Queen Street East (full road) Munro Park Avenue to Fallingbrook Road
- Nursewood Road (full road) Queen Street East to 24 Nursewood Road, from noon to 1:30pm
- Queen Street East (full road) Woodbine Avenue to Fallingbrook Road, from 1:30pm to 4:30pm
- Woodbine Avenue (full road) Queen Street East to Lakeshore Boulevard East
- Lakeshore Boulevard East (full road) Coxwell Avenue to Woodbine Avenue, from 2pm to 4:30pm
