OPP warns bikers to slow down

TORONTO, Ont. – As the warmer weather awakens the spirit of motorcyclists, Ontario Provincial Police are urging bikers to slow down or face the consequences.
OPP Sergeant Dave Woodford told the Toronto Sun, provincial police will be keeping an eye on sport motorcycles speeding and driving dangerously by using its aircraft. Sgt. Woodford added that anyone caught racing a motorbike will lose it for seven days, face a fine, and eventually have to pay high insurance rates.
This warning comes after one man died and a second man is facing charges following a bike crash in Mississauga, Friday evening. According to police, the two bikes were street racing on Mavis Road when the crash happened.
The man who survived fled the scene, but was tracked down a short time later.
A 32-year-old man has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death while street racing, criminal negligence causing death while street racing and driving while suspended.
