Car insurance rate increases hitting drivers now

Car insurance rate increases approved last year are beginning to hit Ontario drivers.

Online quote provider Kanetix said rates jumped nearly 12 per cent in this province in the first three months of 2010.

This happened as rates fell by 4.6 per cent in Quebec and 1.6 per cent in Alberta.
