Woman found dead at Danforth and Main high-rise

TORONTO, Ont. – Homicide detectives were trying to piece together the circumstances surrounding a suspicious death at an apartment building in the Danforth Avenue and Main Street area, Thursday.
A man was taken into custody earlier in the day; however, police remained tight-lipped as to whether or not he was a suspect.
Police received the 911 call just before noon and once they arrived at the high-rise, located on Lumsden Avenue, they found the body of a woman, 61, on the floor of her apartment.
She had obvious signs of trauma.
A teary-eyed Tammy told 680News she lives a few doors down with her young son.
“It’s so scary – just knowing I live here with my son and this is happening – like, come on. This neighbourhood is suppose to be safe – it’s not at all.”
The victim, who has not been officially identified, is being described as a quiet woman who often kept to herself.
Residents said they usually saw her walking her dog around the neighbourhood.
They also said she had a man who lived with her on and off.
