Construction Worker Killed After Wall Collapses In Whitby

A 26-year-old construction worker has died after he was trapped under a concrete wall which collapsed in Whitby on Wednesday.

It happened just before noon at a construction site near Gerrard and Townline roads in north Whitby.

The man was working on a foundation wall for a three-car detached garage when the wall fell on him.

It took fire crews several hours and specialized equipment to get to the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Ministry of Labour and Durham Regional Police are investigating.
