Toronto Police have arrested two men following the robbery of an elderly man on the TTC.
Yusuf Hizel, 79, was attacked as he rode the subway around 8:30pm on April 24. Two men allegedly approached him between Chester and Pape stations.
They allegedly asked him for money and when Hizel said he didn’t have any, the pair stole his wallet and glasses.
Hizel tried activate the Passenger Assistance Alarm, but couldn’t reach it. He says that no one on board the train came to his aid.
So Hizel gave chase. Officers eventually tracked down his wallet. His cash was gone, but his credit cards were still there.
Later in the week, investigators released security camera footage of the accused. Two men were arrested just under a month later.
