A Boozy Boost For Nuit Blanche 2010?

Nuit Blanche truly may turn into the longest and biggest party of the year, if a proposal before the city’s economic development committee is passed.
The city is reviewing a pitch to extend drinking hours during the all-night celebration of everything art.
The proposal was spearheaded by Mike Williams, Toronto’s general manager of economic development. A similar proposal was recently approved that saw bars and restaurants to serve booze an hour earlier during soccer’s World Cup.
The report says the province’s alcohol and gaming commission has no problems with the plan, and only places within the Nuit Blanche zones will be able to apply for extended hours.
Last year, nearly a million people took part in the festivities, meaning an estimated $18 million for the city’s economy.
