Man Drowns In Brampton Lake

Peel police have identified a young man who drowned in Brampton Saturday afternoon.
22-year old Adriss Cheema was swimming in Professor’s Lake when around 4:30pm he disappeared.
A group of people tried to rescue him, but their attempts were unsuccessful.
Peel police, along with the Brampton Fire Department tried to locate the victim with no luck. Shortly before 8:00pm the Peel Regional Dive Team discovered a body in the area.
It was identified as Adriss Cheema of Brampton.
With the warm weather here, police are asking the public to be extra careful around open bodies of water and only swim in designated areas.
