Netanyahu thanked Prime Minister Stephen Harper, whom he called an “unwavering friend of Israel,” for Canada’s strong support for the Jewish state.
It’s the first time since 1978 that a sitting Israeli prime minister has addressed Toronto’s Jewish community
About a half-kilometre away, hundreds of people staged a peaceful but noisy demonstration, most of them supporting Palestinians while the others support Israel.
