Stolen Tiger & Two Camels Found

Three exotic animals stolen in Quebec last week have been found safe and sound.

Two camels, Todd and Shawn, and a tiger named Jonas disappeared last Friday as they headed to the Bowmanville Zoo, near Oshawa, from Nova Scotia. The truck carrying the animals was stolen from a motel northeast of Drummondville, Que. when the driver stopped for a rest.

Authorities managed to track down the truck, but didn’t find the trailer. Alerts were put out to truck weigh stations in Quebec and at American border crossings.

The Bowmanville Zoo posted a $20,000 reward for information leading to the recovery of its animals.

According to the Quebec provincial police, the trio was found in a town about 90 minutes east of Montreal Monday night. A tip from a member of the public led investigators to the animals.
