Man Killed Following Canada Day Fireworks

Toronto Police are investigating a Canada Day shooting that left one man dead.

Kyle Clarke, 20, was murdered at a strip mall near Downsview Park on July 2.

Officers were called to a restaurant on Keele Street between Wilson and Sheppard just after midnight Friday.

Police say Clarke had watched the fireworks with some friends at the Park, then walked to the mall.  He was shot several times and the cause of death was gunshot wounds to the chest and back.

Approximately 200 people were in the parking lot when the shooting occurred and officers are looking for witnesses.

A male black in dark clothing was seen running north from the area, near Keele Street and Sheppard Avenue West.

Clarke, 20, is the city’s 25th murder victim of 2010.
