VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A model of B.C. Place and its retractable roof is on display at Tourism Vancouver’s information office on Burrard and Cordova, downtown.
Anders Westoon is with the Pace Group and is taking the model on a tour around the province. “The way it actually works; it can expand from the outwards, from the centre outwards so the roof actually expands from the middle portion out, and can retract back in the middle.”
The space in the middle is about the size of the playing field while the fans stay dry under the portion that wraps around the stands.
The goal for completion is next summer. The model is on display until July18th.
