Swiss Chalet suspect’s case put over until Friday

The man charged in the standoff at a west-end Swiss Chalet, Friday, has been remanded in custody.

According to thestar.com, 50-year-old Terry McBurnie made another brief appearance on Monday and his hearing has been put over to Friday.

McBurnie is facing nine charges, including numerous firearms offences, after it is alleged he locked himself and the restaurant manager inside a Swiss Chalet on the Queensway, near Kipling Avenue.

The standoff ended peacefully after an OPP hostage negotiator came in.
